This session was so impactful for me. Alysha and her baby are in the highly vulnerable category of people who have had to quarantine due to their health over the last year. They hadn’t been around other humans in months (besides their immediate family) and were cautious to even come out for a session. She contacted me, not wishing another day go by without capturing such a special time in their lives, and we made it happen (safely). We met up for a short session that turned into hours of talking about our love for Mexican food and all the things we had in common. Even the rain cleared for them to enjoy this time feeling somewhat “normal” again.

Baby Dawson has overcome three heart surgeries since he was born and is the bravest little warrior. Alysha is a super mom, also undone heart surgeries of her own. This was a celebratory family session on so many levels, in a field of her favorite flowers on the last day they were open for their season. Matt is also a superhero of a dad, loving these two so fiercely! Sunflowers symbolize longevity, love and loyalty. Perfect for this family who has fought hard for this moment to play in a field of hope and life.
