In The Woods Wedding | Deisy + John

Deisy and John are the best/badass newlyweds on the block. (If you think I’m kidding, just refer to their images midway through this highlight reel). John is in the Army, while Deisy is a police officer. They planned on getting married in 2020, and had to reschedule due to deployment. I can only imagine how changing the date of your wedding, (while there are already many moving parts) can feel difficult! But these two handled it like champs, and this day was perfectly them.

Give me ALL the dreamy overcast days, please. Another day with a forecast of storms that gave way for the best diffused glow, and not a drop of rain! Deisy got ready in the venue’s sweetest bridal cabin with one of her closest friends. It was a calm and peaceful day that began with a “first look” with her father. John prepared with his best man and some words of encouragement from his mom. The newlyweds saw each other for the first time down the aisle and I just remember the tone of their ceremony felt sacred. It felt like a holy moment and all were leaned in to listen. Our time together before their reception was one of my favorites, as they pulled out their guns and had a stand-off on the dock. What a powerhouse couple in more ways than one! Their reception was filled with so many smiles, so much laughter and a sweet send-off. Everything about Deisy and John’s day was beautiful, and In The Woods is a venue I highly recommend!
